July 22, 2007 - Saturday
Pattern: Feather and Fan Triangle Shawl from Folk Shawls.
Yarn: Evilla Preyarn, color A-79
Here are some close-ups of the "haloing" that occurs with pencil roving. (Click for the larger version - you can see it there!)
The haloing makes for a very, very warm knit as lots of air is trapped inside those fibers. And - being garter stitch - the whole shawl is soft and smushy and quite koselig!
I will say that wet? This stuff smells like it came right off the sheep. I had to wash the finished shawl twice in nearly hot water and wool soap to get the lanolin and sheepy smell out.
Now, for my SnB peeps... Takk for sist!
And here is the short film from Live Earth I mentioned! Y'all all should watch it - it's quite powerful.
Speaking of things to watch, this kind of sums up my feelings this week:

And Stewart helped me finish it...
Yes, I finished Icarus!
Yarn: Evilla 8/2
Needles: 3 mm
Modifications: I was running out of yarn, and left off some repeats. I wound up having to buy more yarn anyway for the last 2 edging rows and bind off.
*Sigh* Isn't Evilla gorgeous?
I've also been spinning!
This is regnbuekæmmet merino from Kartehuset that I picked up at Go' og Varm.
And alpaca also from Go' og Varm.
And finishing up a few small things...
Oh, and starting a whole pile of new things. And it's ALL RAVELRY'S FAULT!
