Some say they're hot chocolate for your feet.
Some use a pre-felted one as a hat.
Some add cables.
Some make 'em stripey.
They're just giant socks...
but they seem to be enjoying a revival of late. Partly thanks to their suitability as first socks, partly because they're quick enough to whip up several pair as holiday gifts, and mostly because Crazy Aunt Purl is whipping up some serious enthusiasm and planning another knitalong!

Love your body day.
Today is a good day for this.

Oh, my stars. I wish I'd known how to knit and had this pattern when I needed it*! That's perhaps the most
wonderful knitted thing I've seen. Beryl Tsang's site, Titbits, and
the related forum promise to be a
wonderful resource for breast cancer survivors.
Oh, and the pre-surprise surprise was my bit on provisional and tubular casting on coming out Friday. Hope you like it!
*I've had reconstructive surgery (a pedicled TRAM-flap is the technical term - which I'm totally pleased with, by the way) but did have a silicone prosthesis at one time and can promise you it wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world to wear. It was, though, rather fun to squish.

Theresa needs Eve's tricky help to fend off Alistair's lecherous advances.
Theresa needs to agree to be on time for some things.
Theresa needs a nice warm hug.
Theresa needs a small USB hub.
Theresa needs a makeover.
Theresa needs a traveling hat.
Theresa needs to be moved from the "good list" to the "evil list".
Theresa needs to get used to the fact that she will remain the Ketchup Queen.
Theresa needs to pull up her socks and show what she's made of.
Amazing how many of these things are right on...

But I'll have to say even the lure of a backseat full of yarn was no match for the
joy of giving away free yarn to a whole roomful of knitters...
And I'm delighted to say, no fistfights broke out.
And in a very cool coincidence, one lucky gal got just the yarn she needed
to keep working on this lovely shawl.
So in conclusion I think I can safely say a good time was had by all.
Especially me.

My "what I'm currently knitting" list growing by leaps and bounds, this truly is amazing. I think I'll set my limit at 10, though I know there's more current projects lurking in my closet to pounce on me when I open the door and make me feel even more guilty that I never finish anything.
Oh wait! I did finish something!

A: Order new brightly colored work shoes!
I have to wear those awful white uniforms - won't the butterflies spruce it up a bit?

And this week QXL is auctioning
a collection of felted bags and scarves called Strength and Growth,
handmade by NRK's Anbjørg Sætre Håtun with proceeds going to the
Norwegian Cancer Society.
Cute bags - worthy cause!
